Message from the Executive Director
We are in a period of unprecedented shift in potential regulation as the federal government and states grapple with how to address recent abuses and the perceived causes of the current financial crisis. Members of Congress, federal regulators (such as the U.S. Treasury and Securities and Exchange Commission), as well as state governments and regulators, are each looking for ways to tighten existing regulations to close perceived gaps or propose new rules to address areas previously given more leeway. The Texas Hedge Fund Association, in partnership with Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, is monitoring the potential impact of new regulation on the hedge fund industry and will keep you up to date with these developments through the Private Fund Bill Tracker which has been posted on our Resources page.
